Ming-Hwa Yeh      Choreographer / Dancer

 

Ming was born and raised in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. She received her BFA in Dance from Taipei National University of Arts (2008), National Theater of Taiwan presented her first work, which collaborated with Wu-Kang Chen, the artistic director of HORSE, as an emerging Taiwanese choreographer.  She won the Creative Dance Competition, Creative Dance Award in Taiwan (2009).

 

Her Seize was selected as " 30 Performance Arts To Watch 2009" and invited by La Biennale di Venezia, the 7th International Festival of Contemporary Dance (2010).

 

She was an artist in residence AiR Bergen, Norway (2013), presented Nordic inspired by the nature of Norway (2014). The 3 hours long length Nordic was commission by Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, and invited by Women in Dance Leadership Conference in Louisiana, USA (2015).

 

She received a fellowship from Asia Culture Council as an artist residence in Tokyo. Nordic was selected to the finals in Yokohama Dance Collection (2017), the same year The Serene Gallery Performance X Exhibition present in MoNTUE Museum, Taipei (2017).  She will have a newest work collaborates with Japanese digital artist Go Watanabe as the support program for Yokohama Triennale 2017.   

 

As an independent female choreographer based in Taiwan. Her artistic approach has been interpreting and mapping time dimension through body, senses, and aesthetics.
